UWB Radar Signal Processing for Positioning of Persons Changing Their Motion Activity
نویسندگان
چکیده
In many applications of ultra-wideband (UWB) radar a character of target motion is a priori not known and naturally can differ within a group of multiple targets. Usually a signal processing aimed at the positioning of only moving persons or only static persons leads to a loss of information. To solve this task, the utilization of combined processing based on detection of non-stationary signal components in the time domain and human respiratory motions in the frequency domain is proposed in this paper. The results of such processing are more reliable and robust with respect to motion activity of all monitored persons, which is demonstrated by processing of measured UWB radar signals.

UWB Radar Signal Processing for Localization of Persons with the Changing Nature of Their Movement
In the last decade, it has been shown that short-range ultra-wide band radars (sensors) can provide the efficient solution for human being localization for line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight scenarios. To localize people correctly using this technology, the corresponding detection and localization methods have to be selected according to the nature of person motion state. In this respect, two ...
متن کاملLocation Detection and Tracking of Moving Targets by a 2D IR-UWB Radar System
In indoor environments, the Global Positioning System (GPS) and long-range tracking radar systems are not optimal, because of signal propagation limitations in the indoor environment. In recent years, the use of ultra-wide band (UWB) technology has become a possible solution for object detection, localization and tracking in indoor environments, because of its high range resolution, compact siz...
متن کاملMicro-Doppler Processing for Ultra-Wideband Radar Data
In this paper, we describe an operational pulse Doppler radar imaging system for indoor target localization and classification, and show how a target’s micro-Doppler signature (μDS) can be processed when ultra-wideband (UWB) waveforms are employed. Unlike narrowband radars where time-frequency signal representations can be applied to reveal the target time-Doppler frequency signatures, the UWB ...
متن کاملEfficiency of Target Location Scenarios in the Multi-Transmitter Multi-Receiver Passive Radar
Multi-transmitter multi-receiver passive radar, which locates target in the surveillance area by the reflected signals of the available opportunistic transmitter from the target, is of interest in many applications. In this paper, we investigate different signal processing scenarios in multi-transmitter multi-receiver passive radar. These scenarios include decentralized processing of reference ...
متن کاملInverse synthetic aperture radar imaging for concealed object detection on a naturally walking person
This paper describes the architecture of a microwave radar system intended for imaging concealed objects under clothing as a subject walks through the inspection area. The system uses the principle of inverse aperture which is achieved by a person’s movement past a stationary microwave sensor array. In the system, the vertical resolution is achieved by arranging microwave sensors vertically whi...
